In the heart of Charlotte's historical district, Fourth Ward, stands a condominium nestled within one of the city's oldest buildings, dating back to 1929. As a seasoned renovator, I embarked on the challenging journey of reviving the fourth unit in this historic structure. The images tell a story of a space that had weathered the passage of time poorly, presenting a daunting task for restoration.
Having previously renovated other units within the same building, I was no stranger to the challenges that awaited – cracked plaster walls, outdated wiring, subpar plumbing, and a history of craftsmanship that often fell short. Yet, even with my experience and expectations, this project unfolded in a way unlike any other. Each day brought forth new challenges, testing our skills and perseverance.
